Looking beyond ourself , hurry up and wait .

I have been reading some of the post and it seems that the malaise people are involved in and participating is voluntary . I advise everyone to go down to Borders books and buy Ayan Rands book The Fountainhead ,and after reading that , start on her book Atlas Shrugged . I started out reading thousands of pages of books and ideas last september , I worked all year and things slowed down when I put the books down . So with a reading list of over 3000 pages to digest to get ready for next year , I will repeat the progress . By reading or listening to audio books you will have scant time to listen to the static of the recession . The best thing about it is you will go back to the money and creative side of this great business , getting your boots dirty and sweating from a long day in the field . If you don't have a job go watch one in progress and remember how you started . Sucess is never going to come from some politician , social program or networking about non creative things . Doing things with your best interest at heart and making money is the best cure for stagnation . My son is in the army and we spent alot of time when visiting him hurring up and waiting . It is good for that business , but I never wanted to get back to work more then when I was around big government . If you are looking for help from the outside then hurry up and wait .

  • Rod,
I've read, Atlas Shrugged, The Fountainhead and various other short publications by Ayn Rand. I realize she has a hard "right" view of economics. While I am not what you would consider hard right on every issue such as the environment and I am pro-choice I do believe that the liberal entitlement attitude of the majority is what has gotten us into this economic crisis. So Yeah, if she were alive I would vote for Ayn Rand. Her writing is long winded but man does she drive the point home. After reading her books you are now either conservative, full of self loathing or ignorant beyond belief.

  • Whether I am in full agreement with Roderick is not important to my point here. By virtue of stepping up, and probably out of his comfort zone, he has demonstrated what he describes as needed for survival in today's economy. He took responsibility for his own outcome, both emotionally and financially. The two are intertwined. He took action without looking for consensus. Thanks for sharing your opinions Roderick. We do in fact share similar opinions and on our blog, www.eXprzit.com I discussed some of the ways we are adapting in a front page article titled, "THE NEW ECONOMY, A Perspective On North America Today". I would invite your review and comment, but please bring any comment back to this conversation.
