I am curious whether you fellow conexers out there think there would be interest in adding an official "Post/News" function to our site. The "Post" would be unique articles providing to the construction industry what the Huffington Post provides in the political arena or Tech Crunch provides in the Web 2.0 world as a couple of examples. The "News" would provide links to reviewed construction news articles accompanied by a short description or summary of the article. If you think this is a good or bad idea please respond. If you have ideas on how to best pull this off please respond. If you are interested in contributing to such an effort please respond. The goal is for Construction Exchange to provide real value by making it easier to stay on the cutting edge of the construction industry.
I will offer a quick thought here. I gave up advice a long time ago and I am not even up to the point of opinion on this subject yet, however having recently started a blog, websites, and soon e-store I have taken a keen interest in the new science/art/black magic arena of search engine optimization. Your idea here seems to be an excellent way to add content that is relevant and will provide authority. The intro with the separate follow on article is a good mechanism in my mind. On our blog we do a front page article intro with the main article on its' own page. I read somewhere this helps to build authority within the site. Please remember I don't know much about this and our efforts are new, but when I do queries on google my intro's do come up. In short, I think it's a great idea and with external links, it only can help.
John,We publish a few papers in North Carolina that I think would be great to share here. I can provide html format or direct links, let me know which you would like to use.Chase.
